Group in Rapid City will help you start your stargazing journey [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – When it comes to stargazing, there really aren’t many better areas to do it than some of the spots the Black Hills provides. One group in Rapid City hosts regular parties for the public to enjoy the sights.

The Black Hills Astronomical Society has been around for over 70 years and has kept a consistent mission of sharing its love of viewing the stars with the public.

During the summer starting in May, the group hosts “star parties,” public meetings asking the public to come and learn more about their favorite hobby. The events serve as a way for the community to get together and discuss their findings but also allow people just getting into the hobby to ask experts questions about getting a setup of their own.
