Great Day Latte holds ribbon-cutting ceremony [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – It was the smell of coffee beans and a new start for a black-owned business in downtown Mobile.

A ribbon cutting took place today for Great Day Latte then opened its doors for business.

The idea behind this shop is community, art, and fellowship. In addition to coffee, the space also features an art gallery, as well as a space to host events.

Today’s ceremony was joined by the Carnival Angels and the Azalea Trail Maids.

“The Great Day Latte is a third space that was created based on community…and just fellowship, and it was brought upon because we did not have a space specifically created by us, so we decided to make something for us,” said owner Kimberly Knight.

The Great Day Latte is located at 10 S. Conception St.
