Grant money funding mental health training in the Great Lakes Bay region | News [Video]

The National Institute of Mental Health says one in five adults in the U-S lives with a mental illness.

MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) – The National Institute of Mental Health says one in five adults in the U.S lives with a mental illness.

A Mid-Michigan organization is looking to train others on the issue thanks to grant funding.

The Great Lakes Bay Region Mental Health Partnership recently received a $10,000 grant from Huntington Bank. 

The goal is to provide mental health first aid certification and trainings for small businesses and non-profits in the area.

The Great Lakes Bay Region Mental Health Partnership works collaboratively to improve mental health to drive economic vitality and quality of life.

The overreaching goal is to make sure everyone in the region knows where to turn if they’re struggling with a mental health challenge and to seek out help quickly without fear of stigma.
