The government has increased funding for the latest cycle of the Seed and Venture Capital Scheme by 42% for 2025-29.
A total of €250m in equity funding will be available to Irish companies in the early stages of development through the scheme, which will be administered by Enterprise Ireland.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke said the scheme would be good news for entrepreneurs seeking alternative sources of finance for their companies.
“I was delighted to not only approve another cycle for the Scheme but to also secure a 42% increase in funding over the existing Scheme and this will enable Enterprise Ireland to create larger funds that will be invested in Irish firms in key areas such as green tech, AI and lifesciences and others,” said Burke.
