Global outage impacts millions of people [Video]

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) — A worldwide technology outage impacted major flight companies, online banking, stock market transactions, and many other technology-dependent activities.

Many people are wondering about the cause of the sudden outage. iTech Owner Mike Williams said, “CrowdStrike released an update that is causing computers to get stuck in a boot loop that results in a Blue Screen of Death—a message that Windows could not start up properly.”

Although the outage affected many people, it is not expected to be a long-term problem.

“I think most of this will be cleaned up within a day. I think they’ll push this out, and like I said, you can solve this problem, you just have to boot up into safe mode on your computer, then correct a piece of line code so your computer boots all the way up,” said Williams.
