Gadsden police department receives grant to help with health and wellness [Video]

GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) – The Gadsden Police Department will now be able to increase the health and wellness options available to law enforcement officers.

A grant for $15,000 was recently awarded to the Gadsden Police Department from Norfolk Southern to increase the mental and physical health of law enforcement. First responders and their families will now have access to Lexipol’s Cordico mental health and wellness solutions app.

The app provides first responders access to mental health resources and mental health professionals who specialize in working with people in high-stress occupations.

The City of Gadsden will test the app for one year before making a final decision.
