TULSA, Okla. — It was nearly a year ago the Father’s Day storm caused widespread power outages and damage to homes, buildings and businesses across the Tulsa metro. Some people are still dealing with the fallout.

During the storm, the governor and lieutenant governor were both out of the state and there was a delay in issuing the disaster declaration to get federal resources to Tulsa County.

FOX23 spoke with the man who eventually was made acting governor about what if anything has changed.

“When you’re doing everything you can to help your community recover from a massive natural disaster, it means a lot of have leaders who show up and who care,” said Tulsa Mayor GT Bynum in a press conference last year.
