Fota Wildlife Park targeted by hackers [Video]

Visitors to Fota Wildlife Park this summer who booked their tickets online have been urged to cancel their bank cards after the attraction was hit by a major cyber-attack, writes Ian Begley.

The Cork attraction was forced to shut down its online payment system after management learned of the potential damage the hackers could inflict on their customers.

Patrons who paid online for a visit to the park over the summer months have been advised to cancel their debit or credit cards, with experts warning they could be vulnerable to identity theft.

They have also been urged to review their bank statements for suspicious activity.

“Fota Wildlife Park has experienced a cyber-attack and is currently investigating the incident,” the company stated on its site.
