Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio – The former Waterbury city official who struck a teenager who was riding a scooter with his car has learned his fate.
John Egan gets ten years in prison, suspended after two years.
Egan is the former zoning commisison chair.
It was last May that, after a day of drinking, he struck 17-year-old Bryan Calle in the area of Highland Avenue as the teen returned home from work.
Egan faced charges of evading responsibility, to which he pled no contest.
The family forgave Egan, who was also sentenced to five years probation.
