Responders are currently searching through the rubble after the fire broke out on Colfax Drive.
AUSTIN, Texas — Responders were on the scene of a house fire in Central East Austin early Tuesday morning.
According to a social media post from the Austin Fire Department (AFD), crews arrived just before 4 a.m. to the intersection of Colfax Drive and Bitterwood Drive, not far from FM 969 and Imperial Drive.
AFD said the fire happened at a pre-fabricated home, which was destroyed in the fire. After putting out the fire, firefighters were working “to dig through remaining rubble to search for life and fire extension” as investigators made their way to the scene.
One additional pre-fabricated home was also exposed to the fire, but no injuries have been reported. AFD said both residents have been accounted for.
