BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) – Fire investigators in Bloomington are still working to learn how much damage a fire deemed “accidental” caused to a home Sunday morning.
According to Bloomington Fire spokesperson Frank Friend, at about 10 a.m. Sunday, fire crews were called to a building on 1110 N. Roosevelt Ave. for reported smoke.
When they arrived, fire crews noticed smoke coming from the back of the building, so they called for more help with the fire.
Fire crews entered the home and noticed no one was in the building during the fire. They immediately put out a fire in the kitchen near the back door.
As they continued through the building, fire crews found several holes in the floors of both the first and second story. They also noticed heavy smoke and greater heat on the second story.
