BOONE COUNTY — Nearly three weeks after Fear Fest Haunted House announced it would not open this Halloween season, customers say they are still awaiting refunds they were promised.
The haunted house was unable to open after failing fire code inspections, according to previous KOMU 8 reporting.
After failing inspections, the attraction was required to present plans to fix code violations and then reapply for inspection.
The Boone County Fire Protection District told KOMU 8 that neither the plans, nor a reapplication, were submitted to its office.
Now, customers are voicing online that they have not received refunds.
The attraction told customers to message its Facebook page for a refund and that refunds would be issued in small batches.
KOMU 8 reached out to Fear Fest to see if any refunds have been issued but did not receive a response.
Many customers say they haven’t received any communication from Fear Fest during this process.
