TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP, MI – Police are looking for a woman who they say is passing counterfeit bills at Southwest Michigan businesses.

The Michigan State Police Marshall Post says a woman has been giving stores fake cash to put the money on an online card. It’s believed she is working with a crew of people to “pass these fake bills,” a news release said.

She is described by police as being a Black woman in her early to mid-20s, wearing a black sweatshirt and a yellow hair wrap.

Police are also encouraging area businesses to be cautious when receiving large amounts of cash.
