Power is still out for thousands of homes and businesses across the state and Eversource said that this will be a multiday restoration.

The storm brought down trees and wires and closed several roads.

Eversource said Thursday morning that the storms caused significant damage and there are around 1,000 trouble spots across the state along with 100 blocked roads.

They will be focusing on clearing blocked roads and restoring power to critical facilities.

The storms brought heavy rain, thunder, intense lighting and wind gusts of 77 miles per hour, according to reports from Bradley Airport.

The storms caused damage across the state, bringing down trees.

United Illuminating and Norwich Public Utilities each had a few hundred as of Thursday morning, but power has been restored to most customers.
