Employees at central Pa. health facility go unpaid after CEO dies [Video]

A mental health and substance use treatment company founded in Lancaster County has closed two of its out-of-state locations and has fallen behind on paying employees, including those at its Ephrata facility, all since the Saturday announcement of the death of its founder and CEO.

Retreat Behavioral Health executives did not respond to requests for comment from LNP-LancasterOnline, but an internal emailed memo sent to employees Sunday acknowledges that employees were not paid. The memo was shared by an employee of Retreat at Lancaster County on condition of anonymity due to fear of retaliation.

“We hope to have a definitive answer toward week’s end,” read part of the memo, which was sent by Retreat Behavioral Health Chief Administrative Officer Scott Korogodsky and signed by Korogodsky and others.
