RAPID CITY, S.D. – Elevate Rapid City delivered a key presentation Monday night providing an update to one of its most crucial stakeholders – the city itself.
Elevate CEO Tom Johnson headlined the agenda at the city’s first council meeting of the month. Since Mayor Jason Salamun took office 13 months ago, Elevate has been providing quarterly updates to the council, showcasing the ongoing efforts to stimulate business growth in the city.
Elevate’s mission is twofold – attracting new businesses to the area and supporting the expansion of existing ones.
Johnson says, “I think we spend 70 to 80% of our time helping existing businesses expand. So I know what gets all the headlines is, you know, who are you bringing to town, but what really makes the jobs are who are you helping expand that are already here?”
