Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, CEO of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA)
Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe has been named the National Health Insurance Authority’s (NHIA) new CEO by President John Dramani Mahama.
He takes over from Dr. Da Costa Aboagye, who was appointed in February 2024.
Dr. Bampoe is a seasoned medical professional and public health specialist with a wealth of knowledge in international health funding and policy.
He graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School with a medical degree and then went on to the esteemed Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health in the United States to receive a Master of Public Health. He was formerly a student at Achimota School.
He has worked for both domestic and foreign healthcare organizations. Dr. Bampoe was formerly employed at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Geneva as a Senior Fund Portfolio Manager.
