PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Downtown PKB collaborated with the City of Parkersburg Development Office and the Wood-Washington-Wirt Interstate Planning Commission to help make finding parking spots in downtown Parkersburg easier.
According to executive director of Downtown PKB, Amanda Stevens, the idea for the interactive map came from stakeholder meetings.
During these meetings, downtown businesses and their patrons expressed concern over not knowing where to park and how it could be a detriment to local businesses.
“…we from time to time have downtown stakeholders’ meetings and one of the top five topics of conversation that came up as you know issues or concerns for the downtown businesses was their patrons saying, you know, where do we park? What is the parking situation? So, this was something we wanted to prioritize… making a map available to show people there’s plenty of parking.”
