The Los Angeles Dodgers are no stranger to injuries to their starting rotation. On Saturday, rookie right-hander River Ryan took the mound looking to help Los Angeles take the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He lasted only a few innings and was removed due to forearm tightness. The team thought he might just head to the injured list but now the worst fears have come true.

Ryan will be the remainder of the season according to manager Dave Roberts. Juan Toribo of MLB.com reported the news on social media.

Ryan had just been coming into his own with Los Angeles, giving the rotation a needed spark. The young right-hander was 1-0 with an ERA of 1.33 over four starts for the Dodgers.
