The Bears’ Thanksgiving comeback ended in complete disaster due to poor time management, to put it mildly, but Caleb Williams at least gave Chicago fans a reason for hope amid an ugly losing streak.
Williams overcame a sluggish first half to play well and get the Bears back into the game after halftime, making some thoroughly impressive throws against a Lions defense that has been excellent in the second half this season.
It’s been an up-and-down season for Williams, who caught fire before the Bears’ bye but struggled mightily behind an unsteady offensive line afterward. While Chicago still hasn’t won since its bye, Williams has looked like a franchise quarterback in his past two games — and that’s all Bears fans can ask for in what’s become another lost season.
