Deadline Extended for Homeowners to Apply for Emergency Repair State Grants Related to Severe July Weather | Focus Economy [Video]

ROME, N.Y. — New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has extended the deadline for Oneida County homeowners to apply for emergency repair grants following the EF-2 tornado on July 16.

This program is managed by Homes and Community Renewal.

Those who experienced storm damage can apply for grants of up to $50,000 to restore homes to a safe, sanitary and livable condition.

The new deadline for applications is Nov. 8.

Homeowners in Chautauqua, Madison, Erie, Oneida, Essex, Saratoga, Lewis and Warren counties may apply for assistance due to severe weather events that occurred from July 10-16, 2024.

“Extreme weather events have become all too common in our state, and my administration is committed to providing relief to New Yorkers in need,” Hochul said.

“These emergency repair grants are giving families the opportunity to rebuild — providing a lifeline to New Yorkers as they recover from these devastating storms,” she added.
