DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – Another new airline is debuting its promise of commercial passenger air service to Dubuque.
Tuesday, community leaders met with Denver Air Connection staff at the Dubuque Regional Airport to view the jet set to take flyers to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
Dubuque County Supervisor Harley Pothoff said reaching an agreement the regional carrier is the pinnacle of more than two years of negotiations with different air carriers. He noted the service will help the community’s economy.
“We’re bringing in tourists, funds to our community to small businesses, restaurants, motels, everything,” explained Pothoff. “It all kind of keeps boiling and that’s what we need to do to keep things flourishing.”
Denver Air Connection Chief Pilot Spencer Whitman says the partnership is possible as more pilots enter the field.
