INDIANAPOLIS — An east side community is rallying around a small business owner who has become a local staple for the past 14 years.
If you’ve driven by East 16th Street and Emerson Avenue, you’ve probably noticed Garcia’s Hot Dogs and the people lining up to grab one.
Now, the owner says he might have to close up shop.
The health department notified owner Abacuc Garcia that he needs a larger unit to accommodate his expanding menu.
In response, the community came together to raise money to help Garcia get a food truck.
“Everyone’s welcome,” said customer Elysa Shelton, of Indianapolis. “He’s always so friendly, and he will give you all the toppings that you could possibly ever want, honey.”
