STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A small business started as a project to keep the Hoffmann family busy once they retire has turned into a Christmas experience for the whole family that also is giving back to people impacted by cancer.
“I had the idea of planting a few trees when we bought the property,” says Nick Hoffman, who owns St. Nick’s Tree Farm with his wife, Heather.
St. Nick’s Tree Farm is nestled just off Highway 57 in Sturgeon Bay. This year, they’ve had their busiest year yet since they opened in 2020.
“That would be my little retirement getaway, and then my wife got a hold of it and she wanted to open up a gift shop and start selling trees right away and she kind of took the ball and rode with it,” says Nick.
