SEYMOUR, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut leaders announced Monday that $5 million in state funding will go toward a micro-grant program to help small businesses rebuild following historic flooding.
Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn.) said state grants of up to $25,000 will be available for small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties with fewer than 100 employees that experienced flood damage.

The application period begins Sept. 3, and small business owners must provide detailed descriptions of how their businesses were impacted and include photos, receipts, invoices and estimates where applicable.
Grants can cover various expenses related to cleanup efforts, replenishing lost inventory, and replacing equipment.
The WBDC will administer the grant program on behalf of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).
