Beginning Jan. 2, the 500 block of Cherry Street will be closed from 7:40 to 8:40 a.m. and from 2:40 to 3:40 p.m. to help keep students safe.
COLUMBIA, Pa. — A Lancaster County borough is introducing a partial road closure during drop-off and pick-up times at a local elementary school to help improve student safety.
According to Columbia Borough Police, beginning Thursday, Jan. 2, the 500 block of Cherry Street, near Park Elementary School, will be closed to eastbound traffic daily from 7:40 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. and from 2:40 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.
The police department said the closures are part of an effort to provide additional safety measures for students being dropped off and picked up from the school.
