City unveils more details on replacement of nine bridges in Kansas City [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – On Wednesday, KCTV5 learned that the Country Club Plaza would benefit from four new bridges over Brush Creek thanks to a federal grant. Kansas City will replace five other bridges in parts of the city, as well.

The City announced on Thursday morning that nine bridges will be replaced as part of the $40 million Bridge Investment Program (BIP) Grant. The City of Kansas City will provide a $10 million local match, creating a $50 million total investment.

The following bridges will be replaced:

  • 112th Street over the Fishing River
  • Pleasant Valley Road over Big Shoal Creek
  • 12th Street over Big Blue River
  • Belleview Avenue over Brush Creek
  • Roanoke Parkway over Brush Creek
  • Benton Boulevard over Brush Creek
  • Elmwood Avenue over Brush Creek
  • Gregory Boulevard over Big Blue River
  • Hillcrest Road over Small Creek
