City of Muskegon Heights to receive ‘major’ federal investment [Video]

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — Monday morning Congresswoman Hillary Scholten was at Rowan City Park in Muskegon Heights to announce what she calls a “major” federal investment that she secured for the community.

$500,000 will go towards improving a stretch of Broadway Avenue, from Glade to Getty Street. The funding is planned to go toward the installment of new bike lanes, sidewalks, landscaping and more.

Muskegon Heights Mayor Bonnie McGlothin said the funding brings the city one step closer to reaching new “heights.”

“I just don’t have the words for it. But the people of Muskegon Heights are very happy and fortunate to get that grant,” said McGlothin.
