BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The City of Bartlesville is starting an improvement project on the Pathfinder Parkway.
The project is starting at the section known as the frog pong.
“There’s a pond that runs in between there and there’s a ravine just upstream from that, that has washed out over time,” said Bartlesville Director of Engineering Micah Siemers. “It’s a fairly deep ravine, so we are going to go back in with some larger concrete box structures there and then replace the trail on top of that.”
Siemers said sections such as the frog pond area have become dangerous for trail users.
“Asphalt doesn’t last forever, so we are going to address those areas again,” Siemers said.
Over the next 9 months, portions of the trail will be closed.
“This is gong to focus on trail rehabilitation in six different locations on the trail, so asphalt reconstruction and/or overlays on portions of the trail,” Siemers said.
