DURAND, Mich. (WJRT) – Saturday the community of Durand kicked off the festive season with “Holidaze.”
The event is a holiday party, intended to boost local businesses during Small Business Saturday.
Into addition to the shopping, there were also wagon rides, hot chocolate and cookies, and Santa’s Light Parade.
This led to Santa flipping the switch, lighting up the tree downtown.
“The new additions, the lights, everybody watches when they turn the lights on watching Santa flip the switch,” said Durand resident Curt Reese. “It’s just an awesome small-town experience all the way around, you just can’t beat it.”
Even though Small Business Saturday is over, the work to support the local economy isn’t.
