Cannabis industry growing in Maryland [Video]

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — The Washington County Department of Business and Economic Development says the change in cannabis laws in the state is creating more jobs.

In Hagerstown, Kind Therapeutics has grown its workforce over the past six years.

“New jobs are coming online,” said Ryan Minella with Kind. “We’ve seen about 3,500 new jobs in Maryland. Here at Kind Therapeutics, we’ve added 150 new jobs just over the past year. The biggest thing moving forward is innovation.”

Washington County has partnered with the state on a workforce development initiative.
