Businesses discuss unique Nixa, Mo., intersection opened for nearly a month [Video]

NIXA, Mo. (KY3) – It’s been nearly one month since a new continuous flow intersection opened at U.S. 160 and Route CC in Nixa. Businesses said they’ve already seen a difference in traffic flow in the area.

This continuous-flow intersection is one of only two in the state of Missouri. The idea is to have left-turning traffic cross over the oncoming lanes into another left-turn lane. The cars then turning left would be able to execute that left turn while the oncoming traffic is able to proceed forward.

“We watch it every day out there. We haven’t noticed a whole lot of accidents,” said Marissa Hernandez, co-owner of Bistro 160. “It seems like everyone is really starting to get the hang of the new intersection.”
