Brookwood Baptist Health officially becomes Baptist Health [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Five local area hospitals will have a new name starting Tuesday.

Brookwood Baptist Health is now officially Baptist Health. This rebrand comes after the system was assumed by Orlando Health.

The changes to the individual hospital names include:

• Brookwood Baptist Medical Center will become Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital
• Princeton Baptist Medical Center will become Baptist Health Princeton Hospital
• Shelby Baptist Medical Center will become Baptist Health Shelby Hospital
• Walker Baptist Medical Center will become Baptist Health Walker Hospital
• Citizens Baptist Medical Center will become Baptist Health Citizens Hospital

President of Baptist Health Shelby Hospital Holly Dean said this is a new day in health care.

Other than the name change, patients will see no change to their care. Dean said they will continue to offer the same services, but looks forward to new opportunities to enhance care.
