Billerica, Massachusetts VFW post holds meat raffle to help replace thousands of dollars stolen from safe [Video]

A community came together Thursday evening to support a Billerica VFW post after it was robbed of a safe with thousands of dollars inside. A meat raffle — stocked with pork chops, stuffed chicken, ribs, and steak — was held Thursday to raise money for the post. The raffle, a regularly occurring event, drew in a much larger crowd Thursday after the community heard of the robbery. “This is just our regular Thursday night meat raffle, but we don’t have this big of a crowd on Thursday night,” post Cmdr. Larry Keller said. Police arrested two men, 47-year-old San Sin and 53-year-old Christopher Silva, who they say are two of the three who broke into the post early Monday morning.
