CORVALLIS Ore. (KPTV) – Gevani McCoy has been named the starting quarterback for Oregon State’s season opener against Idaho State, the team announced Monday.
McCoy, a transfer from Idaho, spent the last three seasons with the Vandals. He was the team’s starting quarterback in 2022 and 2023, passing for 2,919 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.
The Baldwin Hills, California native threw 27 touchdown as a redshirt freshman in 2022, earning the Jerry Rice Award as college football’s top freshman at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level.
