PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (WLBT) – The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating multiple shootings that took place last week starting on Wednesday.
The most concerning incident happened early Friday morning when one man shot at several vehicles driving down Beacon St.
Just before 1:00 a.m. Friday, officers heard shots fired around Pearl Avenue and Lewis Avenue.
While they were responding to that incident, police began receiving reports about a car being shot while traveling on Beacon St.
The alleged gunman has been identified as Johnathan Salvador, but authorities are unsure if that is his real name.
According to Captain Desmond Jones, Salvador was shooting from a wooden area near his home on Alford Ave.
Once officers arrived on the scene, gunshots were exchanged between Philadelphia Police and Salvador. Neither the suspect nor the police officers were shot.
Police arrested the 31-year-old shortly after.
