ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) — Another year calls for another “sign war” in Hardin County.
Businesses, organizations, churches and others in Elizabethtown are poking fun at one another through this ongoing tradition of playful banter.
The battle started in 2021 with an idea from Trisha Caudill and Brian Walker, two local radio on-air personalities for Quicksie 98.3’s Morning Show.
To participate, various businesses change their signs to aim a joke at Quicksie and the radio station fires back, sometimes calling on other organizations to join in.
“We are kind of poking fun, but we don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. We just want to make people smile,” Caudill said during a 2021 interview.
