Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines Extend DOJ Review of Merger | Homepage [Video]

Since January, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have been working with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to review the proposed merger of the two airlines.

Earlier this year, the airlines extended the DOJ’s review period to August 5, 2024. They have now agreed with the DOJ on a brief extension of this review period until August 15.

In a statement on their website, Alaska Airlines said: “We continue to believe this combination will enable a stronger platform for growth and competition in the United States, long-term job opportunity for employees, and continued investment in local communities and environmental stewardship. We will continue to cooperate with the DOJ in this review process.”
