Abbott requests disaster declaration for Southeast Texas following tornadoes [Video]

If it is approved, the SBA would give low-interest loans through its disaster programs to qualifying Texans whose homes and businesses sustained damage.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Texas governor Greg Abbott has requested a disaster declaration for Southeast Texas counties that were impacted by December’s tornadoes.

Abbott requested the declaration from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). If it is approved, the SBA would give low-interest loans through its disaster programs to qualifying Texans whose homes and businesses sustained damage from severe storms and tornadoes. This applies to Montgomery and Brazoria counties and their surrounding counties, including Liberty and Harris.
