A Weather Impact Alert for St. Louis as dangerous heat builds Sunday into Monday [Video]

ST. LOUIS — The 5 On Your Side Weather Team has issued a Weather Impact Alert for heat and humidity Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will soar into the 90s Sunday and near 100 Monday afternoon. The combination of high heat and humidity will create dangerous heat index readings from 105 to 110 during the afternoon hours.

A Heat Advisory in in effect from Sunday afternoon into Monday evening for our entire area.

The worst of the heat is expected Monday afternoon as temperatures climb to near 100. With corn fields in the area, moisture will be plentiful due to evapotranspiration or corn sweat. This will push the heat indices close to 110, not only in the urban core but even in many rural areas.
