Former European Council (EC) President Herman Van Rompuy has acknowledged China’s efforts in driving global growth through advancing its initiatives that aim at enhancing global connectivity and facilitating trade. Van Rompuy served as prime minister of Belgium from 2008 to 2009 and president of the EC from 2009 to 2014. In an interview with China Media Group, he said China’s efforts have significantly facilitated global trade flow, delivering universal benefits.
