CHICO, Calif. – Art supplies and projects can be expensive. The Chico Arts and Culture Foundation just awarded $100 prizes for 13 teens that they can use to enhance their artistic practice.
The microgrants can be used to pay for art supplies, artistic development, or to fund projects. The teens who entered the competition are ages 14 to 19.
The microgrant program has grown, with five awards in 2023, and 13 awards in 2024. The event to award the teens was at the 1078 Gallery earlier this week.
The Chico Arts and Culture Foundation exists to generate support for City of Chico art programs.
