BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc invest 60m in Cork plant [Video]

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. has announced a €60m investment in the expansion of its state-of-the-art facility in Shanbally, Co. Cork.

The funding is being used to build a four-story laboratory facility that will enable the company to increase production capacity for currently approved medicines as well as create room for future growth.  

BioMarin not only operates the manufacturing site in Shanbally but also has a commercial office in Dublin.

The company, which develops therapies for genetic conditions, has been in Ireland for 13 years and employs more than 500 people.
