With the 2024 Presidential election concluded, many are wondering what the outlook for U.S. monetary policy will be in 2025. What could a second term for Donald Trump mean for interest rates?
Christ says, “We’ve seen in the economy lately is a pretty strong labor market, inflation gradually coming down, and growth holding steady. In this environment, I believe the Federal Reserve will be cautious about aggressively cutting rates. The Fed has been tightening policy for a while now, and with the economy remaining resilient, they may feel that they don’t need to make additional cuts to stimulate growth.”
