Lidl has launched its own version of the Coca-Cola Christmas lorry, which will tour Britain handing out food and presents from its famous middle aisle.
Lidl’s big red Christmas truck is five metres tall, weighs 15 tonnes and pulls a 20-metre-long cylindrical container styled after its ‘Freeway’ Cola brand with a life-like pull-ring back hatch.
The lorry will stop in nine cities, including Hull, Wrexham and Dundee, from 14 November to 1 December, and the company said it will “grant wishes, hand out over 2,000 Middle Aisle present boxes, give away festive food shops and provide an array of mouthwatering festive food.”
One in every 10 of the present boxes will contain a ‘Golden Ticket,’ giving shoppers the chance to win their Christmas food shop in Lidl with a £100 coupon redeemable through the Lidl Plus app.
