BBB warns of monthly warranty letter scams | News [Video]

People are getting letters in the mail that the Better Business Bureau says are trying to trick you into a monthly home warranty service.

It may even have your real loan number on it.

FOX23 talked to the BBB about what to look for and where to start if you are looking for a warranty.

There’s so much to keep up with homeownership, from mortgage payments, to insurance, maintenance, utilities and so much more.

Now, a letter in the mail.

It appears to be from your mortgage provider and it’s allegedly from the company’s “home warranty department” claiming your home warranty must be renewed.

“So we see this with telephone calls, your car warranty is getting ready to expire. This is kind of the same principle, except for your mortgage. So you might want to be more alert when you get a notice in the mail that says ‘hey, your mortgage is about to expire’ or …
