PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Democratic voters from Alabama crossed state lines Sunday to help canvas in Escambia County, Florida.
“We’re here to flip Florida blue,” Baldwin County Democratic Party chairperson, Robyn Monaghan said. “To beat Donald Trump in his home state and to elect the first female black President of the United States.”
Volunteers and political figures knocked on doors to encourage neighbors to vote for the Harris-Waltz campaign.
“Talking to voters is the number one way to win an election,” Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried explained. “By going out there putting in the hard work and showing your potential constituents that you are going to show up for them.”
Florida typically leans red, however, Democratic voters have hope they can turn it blue. As for Alabama, many believe the red state will remain.
