As the grandson of company founders Bill and Vieve Gore, Bret Snyder is the first family member to lead the multi- billion-dollar, private manufacturing company since his uncle, the late famed Gore-Tex inventor Robert Gore, stepped down from the helm more than 20 years ago. Snyder first spent time in roles outside the company and then later as a ground-level researcher at Gore, before ascending to lead its thousands of associates around the world. Since taking over in 20202, he’s helped to orient Gore’s research and capabilities toward growth industries of the future, including health care and renewable energy.
