Merrehope finally getting its new roof [Video]

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Restoration work is underway at historic Merrehope after many years of fundraising by the Meridian Restorations Foundation for a new roof.

The historic home is a tourist attraction and is used as a venue for weddings and events.

This is only phase one, along with other repairs needed to be made to continue to preserve the historical aspects of Merrehope.

“We’re so excited that this week, we’ve started finally on the roof at Merrehope. Everybody’s been waiting for this for years, It needed to been happening. We’ve worked together with organizations, businesses, grants and individuals and have raised the funds to be able to raise the roof for Merrehope. We know how important this is to quit putting band aids on it and fix the problem,” said Kim Waters.
