BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — A major project is set to enhance the experience and appreciate the history of downtown Bowling Green.

The city’s historic alleyways are slated to undergo a makeover thanks to a $100,000 American Rescue Plan Act grant awarded to the Downtown Bowling Green foundation.

Members of the foundation said the goal is to create beautiful and safe walkways to enhance the downtown Bowling Green experience for businesses and shoppers.

The downtown area can be a busy place with plenty of foot traffic, but most of the parking lots are located in the rear of the shops and businesses.

To get to the storefronts, many shoppers and patrons take the alleyways to a main street.
